How to make a grocery list everyone can shop from

A good grocery list makes sure your household gets everything it needs. Ingredients for multiple days of breakfast, lunch and dinner, snacks, toilet paper and so much more.

Make a grocery list together:

"Milk" could be anything

Semi-skimmed or full-fat, lactose-free or not, that one brand. One word on a list doesn't say which you mean, so your partner picks one. And guesses wrong.

Wait, did we still have ketchup?

Nobody's sure, so you buy it anyway, or you don't. Two weeks later there are two bottles, or the jar's already running out halfway through cooking.

One person types, everyone else shouts extras

One person keeps the list and everyone else shouts "add this and that too". That's a chore of its own, and whatever gets forgotten turns out to be a hassle.

How to make a list that holds up

  1. Build the list together. Whoever notices the pasta has run out adds it themselves. This way the list builds itself, without one person having to write everything down.
  2. Put a photo on anything confusing. A picture of the pack or the brand. Then your housemate buys exactly that product, so you always end up with the right one at home.
  3. Not sure? Have someone check. Not sure the ketchup is still full? Tick "Check?" when you add it and let whoever's home look in the cupboard. Plenty left? They tap "We already have it" and it's off what you need to buy.
  4. Tick it off as it goes in the basket. Not once you're home. Then everyone sees straight away what's been picked up and what's still to get.

Chunky or smooth? Check the photo!

A photo on the item, live check-offs in the shop, and one tap to check what you already have. Together, on one list.
