About Jia
Jia is for households that want to live together, not hold meetings together. One place for groceries, chores, cleaning, recipes and the weekly meal plan — playful enough that you actually use it.
Why we started
It started with two very ordinary household problems: what are we eating this week, and did you write all the ingredients down? Originated from just the idea of a shared grocery list, Jia has become a bit of a "hobby gone too far", building new features for things that, in most households, live in chat threads, sticky notes, and people's heads — which means they live nowhere.
Not a strict productivity tool that turns your home into a project. We wanted something light: open the app, see what matters now, complete some tasks, close it again. Everything you share sits in one place, visible to everyone, so nobody has to be the household's accountant.
That's why Jia is built around togetherness: lists that update live, chores that rotate fairly, a meal plan that turns itself into groceries. Not like a manager, but more like an digital aid.
What we stand for
Less hassle, not more work
Every feature aims to make a small part of your household easier. Set up your household for optimal benefits.
Fair shares
Housework needs to be done together. Assigning who does what task in the house.
Your data stays yours
We don't sell your data. Your household only sees its own lists, and you can delete your account and data whenever you like.
Built with users
Nearly every change comes from an email or a chat with a household that uses Jia every day.
Who's behind it
Jia is a small, independent project by Broes as a Service, based in the Netherlands. Starting as a tool to help my own household, turned into a product everyone can use.
Jia is free to use on your own; Premium adds sharing with your housemates. Those subscriptions fund development, so we don't need ads or data deals.
Want to try it?
You can start using Jia right away — no account needed to get started.
